Saving Gas
mrwsm asked:

A family member is starting a job to be a Rural Carrier Associate and is required to use her own car. Will a Garmin GPS Navigation system help to save gas by avoiding missed turns, especially when being on new routes all the time?
Any other gas saving tips or vehicle suggestions for Rural Mail Carriers welcome.

It will help save gas. Not sure if the monetary benefit outweighs the cost of the GPS though. Other things that can be done - make sure tires are inflated properly, only haul necessary items (empty trunk), slow acceleration/deceleration, coast in neutral downhills, drive slower. I’m sure there are more, but that’s all I got off the top of my head.
